Learning Observed:
Nimisha found this task difficult at first. She was struggling to grasp how the pattern was made. After our one to one conversation, Nimisha finally understood what to do. She was able to do the first steps: folding the coloured sheet and cutting it so there were strips in the middle of it. Next, Nimisha used her other sheet of paper to cut strips. After observing others and listening to feedback given to her, she was able to complete her weaving mat. Once her work was completed, Nimisha offered to help other learners in the group.
Key Competencies/ Vision Principles:
During this activity, Nimisha demonstrated that she was connected by actively taking part in learning conversations and activities. Nimisha was curious of how this pattern was made and listened carefully to instructions. She showed her capability by persevering and eventually completing her task independently. Nimisha was also collaborative by helping other learners around her.
Next Learning Steps:
Take weaving to the next level by using harakeke or by researching and find out other designs in weaving
